Community Engagement Analyst  

Established in 2018, Civility Localized (formerly known as Amplify Consulting) is a minority-owned and woman-owned, fast-growing consulting firm located in Charlotte, NC, specializing in community outreach planning and place-based outreach initiatives. Our firm consists of professionals experienced in multiple disciplines, including community outreach planning, community development, marketing, communication, and local government policy. We work with governments and nonprofits to enhance their community engagement capacity and increase awareness of special projects by hosting public meetings and workshops, specifically for capital projects and community developments. The Role

Civility Localized is seeking an experienced Part-time Community Engagement Analyst to join a team of outreach strategy, research, marketing and community engagement professionals serving local government and nonprofit changemakers in Charlotte and across the US in key industries: transportation planning, local government budgets, arts and culture, health equity, racial equity, community planning and design. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support team in optimizing and delivering community engagement excellence across the firm through outreach planning and analysis services

  • Stakeholder research and development for large scale community engagement projects, pinpointing contact information for stakeholders across key demographics 

  • Developing community stakeholder databases for Charlotte, NC, Mecklenburg County, the surrounding areas, primarily the Southeast US

  • Scheduling internal meetings and supporting team in capacity planning for client projects

  • Survey design, implementation and analysis for client projects 

  • Writing and drafting summary reports In tool like Google Docs, Google Slides, PowerPoint, and Canva

  • Daily awareness and monitoring of business systems including Asana cloud-based project management

  • Post client follow-up including surveying and testimonial requests

  • Some facilitating virtual and in-person feedback sessions (i.e. focus groups, listening sessions and workshops) 

  • Some hands-on outreach such as canvassing and other relationship-building techniques

  • Virtual event planning and management 

  • In-person event planning and management 

Required Qualifications & Competencies

The ideal candidate would have the following capabilities and qualities:

  • 3+ years of experience working in a consulting, project management community outreach or planning based role

  • A commitment to the mission of strengthening social impact and equity for the Greater Charlotte community and across the Carolinas

  • Effective communication skills with particularly strong written communication skills 

  • Strong data analysis skills for large scale surveys and research reports

  • Substantial experience using the scientific method for developing recommendations using data-backed inputs, including but not limited to: qualitative written or spoken data, quantitative data, open ended comments, focus groups, surveys, interviews and polls

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and prioritize multiple projects

  • Must be a collaborative team player who can also work independently

  • Detail-oriented strategic thinker 

  • Values diversity equity, and inclusion across social differences 

  • Knowledgeable of equity-based tactics to reach and engage diverse audiences

  • Understands the importance of reducing barriers for participation for all 

  • Proficiency with project management and productivity tools (i.e. Zoom, Qualtrics, Asana, Canva, and all Google Suite tools)

Compensation and Work Expectations

The position requires approximately 20 to 25 hrs/wk and starts between $20/hr to $25/hr based on applicant experience. Minimum experience 3yrs. There is potential for growth for the ideal candidate as the company grows. This is a hybrid role with flexible hours with some required on site performance and some virtual performance needed during operating hours 8am-5pm, and some evening and weekend client events such as town halls and community feedback sessions. North Carolina based candidates with easy accessibility to Charlotte preferred. 

Work Location

Civility Localized headquarters are located at 436 East 36th Street Charlotte NC 28205. The community engagement consultant will work hybrid hours in-office and remote, but most day to day work can be completed remotely.
