I think encouraging civic engagement starts with fostering curiosity and open dialogue.

As a young person pursuing higher education and community building during a heavily polarized political climate, I want to emphasize the importance of participating in civic duties.

One of the first that comes to mind is voting. Exercising the right to vote is a simple and effective way to begin engaging in civics!

Engagement can take many other forms, including volunteering with local organizations, attending community meetings, or simply staying informed by reading local news.

Every effort counts in creating resilient and strong communities. Together we can strengthen and build thriving, well-connected neighborhoods and a stronger democracy.
