Taking care of yourself, and others in your community are essential tasks these days. Rest when you can. Recharge as needed. Community is where we find safety and strength. Connect with others, build relationships, and support one another as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Charlotte’s Strategic Energy Action Plan Update

Charlotte is committed to a sustainable future! As part of this effort, the city has a Strategic Energy Action Plan (SEAP) in place to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This plan outlines specific actions we can take together to conserve energy and build a greener city.

Expanded Disaster Relief

FEMA opens new Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Mecklenburg. Victims of Hurricane Helene can now access assistance at a FEMA site in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Mecklenburg County DRC location is: Former Corvian Community School Building, 9501 David Taylor Drive, Charlotte, NC 28262

FEMA offers financial assistance to individuals and communities impacted by natural disasters, including Hurricane Helene. If you or your community were affected, apply for relief immediately.

There are other government resources being made available in the wake of Hurricane Helene, and the disaster area has been expanded in recent weeks: Twelve Additional North Carolina Counties Eligible for FEMA Individual Assistance
