Assistant Program Manager - Civic Impact Academy

Civility Localized is a mission-driven organization committed to deepening civic engagement, nurturing leadership, and building community capacity. Through dynamic programs like the Civic Impact Academy, we cultivate intentional spaces for learning, dialogue, and impact.

Role Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Program Manager to support the successful execution of the Civic Impact Academy this fall. This role will work closely with the Program Manager and cohort participants to ensure that both the virtual and in-person elements of the program run smoothly.

This is a part-time 1099 contractor role with potential for growth into a more permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Content Management

  • Prepare and manage presentation materials, surveys, and curated reading/viewing lists

  • Share relevant links and documents with cohort via email, social media, and WhatsApp

  • Provide live Zoom session support, including chat management and tech troubleshooting

Calendar & Communication Support

  • Manage shared program calendar and inbox in collaboration with Program Manager

  • Send timely reminders to cohort members regarding sessions and key deadlines

Virtual Session Support

  • Monitor virtual program sessions on Zoom

  • Record attendance and provide post-session reports

  • Ensure chat is moderated and participant questions are addressed

In-Person Event Support

  • Support set-up and break-down of events (includes lifting items up to 20 lbs)

  • Manage sign-in sheets, distribute goodie bags, and coordinate photo capture

  • Serve as on-site logistics lead, ensuring all materials and tech are in place

Requirements

  • Availability from September 22 to December 31, 2025 (15 hours/week max)

  • Access to reliable transportation and ability to attend in-person events in Mecklenburg County

  • Use of personal technology devices with reliable Wi-Fi connection

  • Familiarity with secure digital protocols, including two-factor authentication

  • Willingness to adhere to Civility Localized’s values and ethical standards

  • Comfortable navigating platforms such as Zoom, Google Drive, WhatsApp, and social media

  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and manage multiple tasks

Compensation & Details

  • $23/hour

  • No benefits; 1099 independent contractor role

  • No mileage reimbursements unless travel is required outside of Mecklenburg County

  • Opportunity to grow with the organization and take on longer-term roles
